Amazing Aerial Photos of Hawaii from Above

July 29, 2015 by jeffsetter

Last updated on November 20th, 2017 at 01:10 am

As I mentioned yesterday, I am currently staying on the big island of Hawaii in a Yurt that is solar powered. It takes about 30 minutes to upload a photo, but these photos were worth the effort.

Here are some of my favorite aerial photos I have taken of the big island of Hawaii so far. These were all taken using the DJI Phantom 3 Pro quadcopter in raw mode, then enhanced in Lightroom.

Hope you enjoy these aerial photos!

And if you look closely enough, you’ll see the Jeffsetters in the 4th picture!

Great pictures! How is traveling with the quad-copter? Ever run into any issues with the TSA? Also, what case do you use?

Hey Dan – Right now I am doing a completely ghetto transport. I put it in the original box and just check it in a bag. No problems with TSA (what would they be able to do? Nothing really. It’s only against the rules if you fly in an area you can’t fly. Dormant, it’s just a toy I guess).

I am looking to buy the DJI branded backpack case, but their backorder situation makes me wonder when/where I will be when it’s ready to ship. For now it’s just the box, but hopefully I can get something much more convenient to lug around.

Brought it on a 3 mile hike to a beach today and I cursed every minute of it. No easy way to carry a drone without a dedicated case.
