The first (to my knowledge) deal of the year is here for the world’s largest hotel chain! And, to me, this is a very lucrative Marriott Bonvoy promotion! So, if you’re chasing Marriott Bonvoy status, you may want to look into this promotion to give yourself a headstart for the year.
Honestly, I haven’t been keeping track of Marriott’s promotions as of late. Not only am I not traveling much these days, but I’ve also distanced myself from Marriott after achieving Lifetime Platinum Elite status and watching as program benefits and value continue to erode. In my opinion, Marriott still isn’t as bad as Hilton, but it’s certainly gotten bad enough that I’m no longer loyal by default. However, it’s still worth having status with them if you find yourself staying with them, so this lucrative Marriott Bonvoy promotion is something you definitely want to consider.
Lucrative Marriott Bonvoy Promotion
Open for registration now, the lucrative Marriott Bonvoy promotion is very simple. For every eligible paid night you stay, you’ll earn:
- 1,000 bonus points
- 1 bonus elite qualifying night (EQN)
That’s it. Plain and simple. No silly rules like earnings begin on your second night, etc. If you stay at a hotel on a cash rate for four nights, you’ll earn a total of 4,000 bonus points and 4 EQNs. Put another way, you’ll earn double EQNs for qualifying paid stays plus 1,000 points per night. Just think of how quickly you can achieve a new status or renew under the promotion – especially since there’s no cap on earnings.
So, what is a qualifying night? First of all, you must register to take advantage of this promotion. The final day to register is April 15, 2024. Moreover, your stay must be between February 13 and April 29, 2024. All paid stays booked directly with Marriott qualify except for reservations in which:
- The guest room was booked through a tour operator, online travel channel or other third-party channel including, without limitation, expedia.com, hotwire.com, priceline.com, orbitz.com, booking.com, travelocity.com; or
- The guest room was booked at a group rate as part of an event, meeting, conference or organized tour, and the Member does not directly pay the Participating Property for such room; or
- The guest room was booked at a tour operator, wholesaler, or crew room rate or package including, without limitation, organized tours or package bookings; or
- The guest room was complimentary; or
- A voucher or third-party award was redeemed for the guest room.
Award redemption stay nights, including Cash + Points Awards, Free Night Awards, or a Points redemption, also aren’t eligible for the promotion, along with any stays at properties under the following brands: The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott Executive Apartments, and owner-occupied weeks at Marriott Vacation Club, Grand Residences by Marriott, Marriott Grand Residence Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, The Ritz-Carlton Club, St. Regis Residence Club, and Luxury Collection Residence Club.
Final Thoughts
Unfortunately, I will not be taking advantage of this lucrative Marriott Bonvoy promotion. Aside from me not really traveling, there’s no way that I’m going to stay enough for the bonus nights to make a difference. That said, for those of you who can, it’s worth noting that the promotion period is 76 nights long. That means you can earn 153 EQNs if you stay every night of the promotional period. Or, you could stay 30 nights to earn 60 EQNs, which, when combined with the annual 15 you get for having any Marriott Bonvoy card, will give you Titanium Elite status.
Not chasing Titanium status, you could hit 50 nights for Platinum status plus 10 Nightly Upgrade Awards via Marriott Choice Benefit by staying just 18 nights during the promotional period if you have a Marriott Bonvoy cobrand card.
