One of my favorite comedians is Nick Kroll because of the vast array of characters that he comes up with. I have enjoyed seeing him in cameo roles on comedy shows as well as when he guest stars on podcasts like Comedy Bang Bang. He is best known as the character Ruxin on FX’s the League. He’s so good that Comedy Central gave him his own sketch comedy show last year and it’s quickly become one of the best sketch comedy shows on TV.
Last night I was watching an episode from the current season and one of the sketches hit so close to home that I had to post a video of it here. It’s all about using points to purchase food items at a local university. Talk about the ultimate collision between two of my favorite worlds: comedy and points!
Who knew that having a large balance of points could be so attractive to potential love interests?! My favorite part of this 2 minute clip has to be the math lesson toward the end where he uses french fries to explain the value of the points he’s using. This is how I picture things going down for Lucky when he visits nations far, far away.
Another thing I enjoy about the video is that they portray someone who has a large balance of miles as being cool. If having large balance of points and miles makes you cool, consider me Miles Davis! The reality is that most non-points people find my obsessive mile collection to be far from cool. I think I prefer this alternate reality created by the Kroll Show.
If you thought that the sketch was funny or wanted to see what happens in the end, you can view more on the Comedy Central website.
