When I think of the country of Chile, many memories come to mind. The Andes Mountains, Malbec wines, penguins and the overall beauty of the country bring back fond memories. Then there are memories that I completely forgot about until sifting through old photos. One of these is the town of Pichilemu and the festively decorated Alpaca I found walking the beach.
I have no idea why I forgot about the Alpaca on the beach – it’s surely a distinctive sight to gaze upon such an animal walking the beaches. It makes me wonder what else I might uncover as I go through old photos.
There’s not much else to say about this photo other than it was taken in January of 2010 in the coastal surfing town of Pichelimu, Chile. View more of my photos from Pichelimu on the world travel map.
Update: I got a very helpful tweet from Fernando in Santiago de Chile who filled us in on some details about the Alpaca. Her name is Karina.
@jeffsettravel Further information about the Alpaca, her name is “Karina” and people pays for having a picture with her. You’re lucky!
