The following Credit Cards issued by US banks do not charge an additional fee when you make purchases abroad. While this does not cover every single card in existence with this benefit, it does cover the cards most commonly used by frequent travelers based in the USA.
Since this is a rather long list, I am going to break things down by the issuing bank. As of now, the three major credit card issuers that offer no foreign transaction fees are American Express, Chase and Citi Bank.
American Express Cards with No Foreign Transaction Fees
American Express generally only waives foreign transaction fees on their highest end cards with a “Platinum” label on them, including:
- American Express Business Platinum
- American Express Platinum (Personal)
- American Express Mercedes-Benz Platinum
Citibank Cards with No Foreign Transaction Fees
It appears that Citi has just started to issue cards with no foreign transaction fees, as I believe that many of these cards were just introduced in 2012.

JP Morgan Chase Cards with No Foreign Transaction Fees
Chase is by far the most generous bank when it comes to issuing cards with no foreign transaction fees. As you can see, many of their cards have these fees waived entirely, especially their Ultimate Rewards cards, and those co-branded with airlines and hotels.
