Deals like this don’t come around every day, so I if you are smart you will just sign up for the American Express Business Gold Rewards Card (and no, this is not an affiliate link).
If you are still skeptical, read on.
American Express Business Gold Rewards Card
The standard signup bonus for an American Express Business Gold Card is 50,000 Amex Membership Rewards points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months of owning the card. While this is a strong bonus, the minimum amount of spend needed can be steep for earning the bonus. You could get 50,000 points for spending less on other cards (like the United Explorer card).
Occasionally, American Express will bump their offer up to 75,000 points bonus while spending $10,000 in the first 4 months of owning the card. I took advantage of this offer during my January, 2013 credit card application bonanza and thought it was a great deal at the time. While meeting the $10k in minimum spend is not easy to do, it was worth the effort.
Now the bonus is back to 75,000 points and the minimum spend is at $5,000! That makes this deal the single best signup bonus on the market at the moment. It’s better than the Chase Ink Bold/Ink Plus cards which have a 50k signup bonus after $5,000 in spend.
What’s the Catch?
If there were any catch, it would be that this offer won’t be around long. As in, this offer may only last another day or two before American Express decides to close the window. Don’t sleep on it if you want a great bonus.
