Is the Delta Award Calendar Search Feature Broken for Everyone?

Update: As was pointed out in the comments, this feature has always been broken for Delta users, not a recent development as I was inferring in this post. The problem is that the award calendar only works with Delta flights and since Delta does not fly to Budapest I was not seeing the calendar.

I am trying to book an International business class award ticket to Budapest in January for a conference where I will be speaking. With nearly 400,000 Delta Skymiles in the bank and an impending devaluation, I figured 100k for a business class seat would be a good way to spend some of these miles.

The departure and connecting airports are arbitrary to me at this point, so I started my search by saying JFK-BUD and noted that I had flexible dates of travel.

Normally this would open up a calendar view of the month of January to show me when I would have the best chance at having a low-medium-high award redemption in both coach and business class. However, the last several days that I have searched I saw something like this:

They are supposed to show a calendar of award availability that looks something like this: (not the screen shot is for another flight since I could not pull up a current screen shot with the functionality not working)

Thinking I did something wrong, I clicked on the View Award Calendar button.

And the results took around 5x longer than they normally do to display and looked like this:

Notice, there is no calendar at all, just the same results I had seen previously. It seems as if there is some kind of issue with the award chart display, so Delta’s website is redirecting us back to a standard search results page instead. As a former website programmer, a long pause in loading the intended page and then a redirect to a different page indicates to me that the award calendar feature is either down for maintenance or downright broken.

In order to even view business class availability I will need to go back to the advanced search option and choose First/Business Class as my cabin choice.

Then I need to see what is available for each of the potential dates I would be flying AND for several potential airports. This will take significantly longer than it would using the award calendar feature.

How Long Has Delta’s Award Calendar Been Unavailable?

Am I the only person with this problem or are others seeing it too? Does this have to do with Delta now displaying availability on several of their partners on their website?

One reason why the calendar may not be working is the increased number of airline options that appear to be available on the Delta website. In doing this small search exercise, I have noticed business class seats available on Delta + several of their European partners airlines, including:

Virgin Atlantic
KLM
Air France
Alitalia
Delta

While many of these partners have always been available in some form, they are now displaying as having availability in the low level business award category at the current award chart cost of 100,000 miles. I was under the impression that this was only happening for flight dates after the devaluation.

This is much better than what I have seen in the past, but also makes the decision process much more complicated since I cannot view the award calendar.
