I can hardly believe we’re already nearly done with Q2 2021. But, here we are. So, it’s that time yet again – time to register for the next round of Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex bonus categories. So, let’s talk about the Chase Freedom Q3 2021 bonus categories.
For Q2 2021, Chase gave us categories that I’m not particularly fond of – gas stations and home improvement stores. Since I’m still working from home and am not traveling yet, the gas station category does next to nothing for me. What’s more, I don’t really have a need for home improvement store spend right now. I know some of you still do manufactured spending, but I don’t, so yeah. In fact, I wish our next quarter’s categories were the current ones. But, oh well.
Chase Freedom Q3 2021 Bonus Categories
The Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex Q3 2021 bonus categories include grocery stores and streaming services. Both have been fairly common throughout the pandemic, but grocery stores are probably my favorite category – especially with all the experimenting I’ve been doing in the kitchen lately.
I guess I’ll just have to continue to do so in the next quarter 😉
At any rate, the usual Walmart and Target exclusions apply. The streaming services, though, get a little trickier. We’ve seen a ton of new services come to market in the past year, but it doesn’t seem like Chase has updated its list. And that’s disappointing since they say only services that are on the list qualify. Those services include:
- Disney+
- Hulu
- ESPN+
- Netflix
- Sling
- Vudu
- Fubo TV
- Apple Music
- SiriusXM
- Pandora
- Spotify
- YouTube TV
The most glaring omission here is probably HBO Max, though it’d be nice to see Discovery+ on here too. That said, if you have certain Verizon unlimited plans, you get the Disney+ bundle for free and a free year of Discovery+. Tmobile customers get a free standard Netflix.
Final Thoughts
Even though streaming services seldom get you even remotely close to the $1,500 limit, they’re nice to have. Especially when you can prepay for a whole year of service as is the case with HBO Max (though that doesn’t matter here) and Disney+. The real win here, at least for me, anyway, is the grocery category. Even when I travel, I love checking out grocery stores to see what kind of regional specialities they might carry.
At any rate, you can register beginning today at chasebonus.com. And I highly suggest you register before the end of the month to maximize your time come July.
