Hawaiian Air’s Moana Aircraft

November 21, 2016 by Island Miler

The other month Hawaiian Airlines announced its first ever partnership with Disney.  The partnership makes Hawaiian Disney’s airline partner in promoting its new movie: Moana.  And of course, the pair-up is a natural fit, as the two stars of the show, Auli’i Cravahlo and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, are both from Hawaii.  At the time of the announcement, Hawaiian stated that they’d have 3 Moana themed aircraft.  But, during the reveal Hawaiian had a single aircraft ready to go.  Now, however, Hawaiian Air’s Moana aircraft are now all ready.

The first of Hawaiian’s Moana aircraft featured both Auli’i and The Rock’s characters, Moana and Maui.  I think the livery is great, with the wing taking the place of the canoe’s hull.  So it’s as if Moana, Maui, and Pua are voyaging around the world on their canoe in the sky.

Hawaiian’s second Moana livery aircraft features just Maui, and Moana’s pet rooster, Hei Hei.  This livery is the most different of the three, as it doesn’t have a canoe in it.

The third and final Moana livery features just Moana and Pua.  Of course this one does include Moana’s canoe once again.

All three aircraft are deployed across Hawaiian’s entire route network, as the Airbus A332 is the backbone of the Airline’s long haul fleet.  If you’d like to track these flights, these are the aircrafts’ registrations:

  • Moana + Maui + Pua:  N392HA
  • Maui + Hei Hei:  N390HA
  • Moana + Pua:  N391HA

Have you seen any of the Moana jets?  I live in Hawaii (but haven’t had time to get down to the airport yet) and haven’t seen them yet.  I’m hoping to see these jets soon, and am looking forward to seeing Moana in theaters.
