It’s official! Alaska Airlines is joining Oneworld! And that’s great news, as it rolls back cuts made in its relationship with American, while adding so many more partners.
Hot on the heals of my Amex Platinum cancelation, I’m making more cuts. So, this time, I’m saying buh-bye to my Citi AAdvantage cards. After all, it makes absolutely no sense for me to keep paying the annual fee on the card.
My preferred domestic airline and my former preferred airline have had a strange relationship for a while now. And now, Alaska and American distances themselves even more.
Yesterday I got an e-mail from Citi and another from Silvercar. The Citi one was negative, as it discussed Citi slashing AAdvantage benefits. The other, though, was positive, discussing Silvercar Pick Up and Delivery services.
Last week, Delta Air Lines finally took the plunge and increased their checked bag fee to match United and JetBlue. Then, a day later, American Airlines ups checked bag fee too, leaving Hawaiian Air and Alaska Air as the last two airlines to not increase their bag fees.
Does American even get it anymore? Are they just that full of themselves? Because the new Citi AAdvantage benefits make me LOL for being so bad.
