Welcome Delta Points Readers!

October 13, 2013 by jeffsetter

Delta Points Header

For those of you visiting Jeffsetter for the first time after reading my interview with Rene at Delta Points, I wanted to offer you a warm welcome. Rene has been very welcoming to me as I join the team at Boarding Area and I hope that you found our fireside chat to be interesting.

While I’m not sure that I love Delta as much as Rene does, I certainly do find myself flying with them quite often. I guess that is what happens when you live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and Delta controls most of the gates at MSP airport. I have been a Platinum Medallion for the past 4 years and enjoy the domestic upgrades, direct flights and ease of earning Skymiles (or Sky Pesos as they are infamously called). I’ve even managed to book a few great International redemptions as well, using Skymiles to fly in Business class to Prague, Paris, Mauritius and French Polynesia at low award levels.

Earning/redeeming points and miles are an important part of my blog, but I also like to feature as much information as possible about the destination itself. This means taking many photos, shooting videos and touring specific destinations along the way. In addition to blog posts, I am always working on updating my world travel map, which will soon have information and photos of all of the places I have visited over the years.

Travel blogging is a hobby to me, so I only have the opportunity to write one or two posts a day in addition to my day job. That means if you subscribe to my RSS feed or the Jeffletter, you probably will not be overwhelmed by post volume.

Please feel free to look around for a while on this fine fall Sunday and I hope that you will come back for another round! If you want to ask me a question or contact me, it’s all within reach.

Looking forward to having you back in the future!

So your initial contribution is an interview of another blogger? So much for advancing the medium.

Are you referring to my interview with Gary from several months ago? I don’t see anything wrong with experimenting with a format to see what works best. Since that interview, I have decided that it may be more unique and compelling to step outside of interviewing bloggers.

    Here’s my question:

What unique quality do you bring to BA?

This is an honest question too…

First of all, there are many great people at BA, so what I say next does not mean to infer that other blogs do not possess the same qualities, but here it goes: sharing real experiences without outside influence, a sense of humor, strong business and technology acumen that helps provide meaningful commentary on industry happenings, passion for learning how to do things better/helping others… and hustle.

Of these qualities, you could argue that many other bloggers have them as well. Those who become loyal readers will find that they appreciate the accessibility and humility of my blog posts and they will become better informed as a result.
