It’s hard to believe yet another year has come and gone, but it has, so Happy New Year 2025 to you all! I want to thank you all who continue to read this blog, and especially those who have been tuning into Da Kine Travel Show. However, with the New Year upon us, I want to discuss some changes I’ve been considering.
If you’ve been following along with me for a while, you likely know that this blog is a passion project for me. While we were once part of the Boarding Area family of blogs, we got the boot because our readership wasn’t high enough. We also aren’t monetized with referral links to the big banks, etc. To me, that’s been great because it allows me to be more free with my thoughts. However, it also means that writing this posts doesn’t generate any return for my time whatsoever. And that’s fine, but…
Happy New Year 2025! Changes May Be Coming
While I still enjoy writing these posts, changes in priorities means that, as I mentioned previously, I don’t really have the ability to travel anymore, plus I need to spend more time doing things that aren’t this blog. So, while I still intend to write this blog, I’m likely going to back off the daily post standard I’ve held myself to. With the podcast and the realities of my current personal life, daily posts are becoming unsustainable and I need to better balance all that I have going on.
Of course, that’s not to say you won’t see post daily. You may still see this from time to time if there’s a lot of information to cover, but you may also see me skip an entire week (or maybe even more) if there’s nothing I want to discuss.
On travel itself, even if I do travel, I’m contemplating whether I want to continue to write trip reports. These types of posts are the most time consuming for me to complete – hence why my trip reports can drag on for MONTHS even if it’s covering a short weekend trip. However, these types of post see virtually zero readership, leading me to believe that, perhaps, they aren’t worth the work. If any of you feel differently, though, I’d love to know!
While we’re at it, if any of you want to chime in with your thoughts on the types of posts you’d like to see more or less of, please let me know. I’m all ears eyes!
Final Thoughts
I want to thank you all who read this blog and wish you, once again, a Happy New Year 2025! I hope you all continue to remain healthy, happy, and prosperous. And to those of you who are able to continue to venture the world, safe travels to you!
And, you know, please consider checking out Captain Carlos & I over at Da Kine Travel Show!
