Now that I have been living in San Francisco for 8 months, I can safely say that you have a 50% chance of seeing one of the most beautiful sunsets in your life on any given night. Sunrises and sunsets are so incredible that I often find myself lazily admiring out my window without picking up the camera.
“It’ll be just as nice tomorrow” is an easy sentiment to take on when you see such consistent beauty.
But that is no fun! It’s hard to practice photography techniques if you don’t pick up the camera.
This is the view from my apartment at sunset. While I am facing northeast, sometimes the sunset is so powerful that it lights up the entire San Francisco financial district. This was one of those nights.
Taken as a 3 exposure HDR, we get a clear view of the city and the full color of the sky. Gorgeous.
