I’m sure virtually all of my Hawaii-based readers already know about this contest already. But if you somehow haven’t heard of it yet, I’m letting you know about the Westin Hapuna-Hawaiian Air Giveaway now so you can enter before it ends.
Westin Hapuna-Hawaiian Air Giveaway
As the title of this post suggests, the Westin Hapuna-Hawaiian Air giveaway is a vacation sweepstakes that will award one lucky winner a four-night stay in an Ocean View Room at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort (maximum occupancy of two), along with a one-time $150 resort dining credit, and 180,000 HawaiianMiles.
To me, this is a fantastic giveaway! I love the Westin Hapuna – it’s a gorgeous property filled with comfortable rooms, run by an incredible staff, and the signature restaurant (Meridia) is quite good! Plus, it sits on the best natural beach on Hawai’i Island!
Of course, 180,000 HawaiianMiles are nothing to sneeze at, either. Though they’re not as valuable as other miles out there, you can get fairly good use out of a stash like this. For example, if you can secure the base fare, you can get:
- Two roundtrip First Class tickets between Hawai’i and the Continental U.S. with miles to spare
- 9 one-way Main Cabin flights between Hawai’i and the Continental U.S.
- One roundtrip Business Class ticket between Hawai’i and Asia/Oceania
- Two roundtrip Main Cabin tickets between Hawai’i and Oceania
- 24 one-way Main Cabin inter-island flights
How to Enter
Entering the Westin Hapuna-Hawaiian Air Giveaway is a little convoluted. Unlike most other sweepstakes these days, you have to go through more than one or two steps. In fact, to enter properly, you’ll need to:
- Follow the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort on Instagram
- Like the Westin Hapuna’s giveaway post
- Follow Hawaiian Airlines on Instagram
- Like Hawaiian Airlines’ giveaway post
- Complete and submit the entry form on the Mauna Kea Beach Resort website
Say, what? I had to go into the official rules (which is something you should always do) to ensure I was on the correct entry page.
The entry period opened on March 4 and runs through March 11, 2024, at 11:59 pm HST. So, if you haven’t entered yet, you might want to do so soon. Time’s a ticking!
Winner selection will occur on or around March 30, 2024, and the lucky person will be contacted by email. If selected, you’ll have 48 hours to respond. Once you finish all the required documentation, you’ll receive your miles in eight to ten weeks, which is about when Westin Hapuna’s marketing team will reach out to you to arrange your stay.
It’s worth noting that you must use your prize by April 30, 2025, and that travel dates are subject to blackout dates. Further, once you make your arrangements with the Westin Hapuna team, you cannot change your reservation without incurring change fees.
Final Thoughts
Again, if you haven’t already entered, the time to do so is now. Sure, the chances of winning are incredibly slim. But if you do win, you’ll enjoy a fantastic four-night stay at one of my favorite hotels in Hawai’i and will receive a trove of HawaiianMiles. So why not take a minute or two to enter. If they aren’t asking for my Insta name, how do they know I did that stuff?
That’s a very valid question, and one I’ve been wondering myself. My thoughts are that they’re either going to ask for your handle to verify after the fact, they’re going to somehow match the email you give to you on IG, or they just aren’t going to check at all and this is total BS. But given how low-effort it is to do the follow and like, I’d rather not chance it in the incredibly off chance that I do win lol
