Feds Want Airlines to Pay Up for Delayed Bags
According to a recent Bloomberg article, the Feds want airlines to pay up for delayed bags. This fee refund is part of a set of proposed new rules. The aim is to make travel more fair by requiring airlines to refund checked bag fees if bags are significantly delayed. What "significantly delayed" means is anyone's best guess. Hawaiian Air Lie-Flat Seats are Now Bookable
Back in May, Hawaiian Airlines revealed its new business class products. For the first time in the Airline's history they'd be offering lie-flat seats. While new for Hawaiian, lie-flat seats are nothing new. But, since Hawaiian primarily serves leisure travelers, it's understandable that they'd take their time deciding. And over the past couple of months they slowly began … [Read more...] about Hawaiian Air Lie-Flat Seats are Now Bookable
All Nippon Airways A380 Design Contest
In January 2015, Skymark Airline, a Japanese low-cost carrier filed for bankruptcy. Skymark had four Airbus A380s on order at the time, two of which were already completely assembled. The airline received a number of sponsor plans, the leading of which were from Delta and All Nippon Airways (ANA). Kids Try 100 Years of Airline Food
I saw this video on Bon Appetit's YouTube page: Kids Try 100 Years of Airline Food. I thought it was an entertaining, though somewhat questionable video. The first two "meals" are questionable at best in my opinion. They aren't really "airline food," as they were eaten by pioneers, not passengers. And is that really sparkling wine that they're serving the kids? The … [Read more...] about Kids Try 100 Years of Airline Food
Hawaiian Considering London Flights and A380s
Hawaiian Airlines' CEO Mark Dunkerley dropped some shocking news yesterday in an interview with Bloomberg. In short, Hawaiian considering London flights and A380s! Ok, so flights to London aren't really a shocker. They've been on Hawaiian's radar for some time now. Unfortunately, Hawaiian's current fleet of A330-200's don't have the legs to fly the route non-stop. In the … [Read more...] about Hawaiian Considering London Flights and A380s
Tasaka Guri Guri
I often write about newer places in Hawaii. We are, after all, a dynamic state undergoing much change. Often, what's new, pays homage to the past now days. And that's a good thing. Hawaii is such a unique and diverse place, it is important to honor our heritage, especially as it continues to quickly disappear. Luckily, though, some parts of our past continue to thrive (for … [Read more...] about Tasaka Guri Guri
Excellent Airline Meal Guide
Airline food has always had a bad rap. Yeah, it isn't the best thing in the world, and jokes about airline food are getting really old. But, somehow I find myself always intrigued about what different airlines are serving. This is especially true for airlines I'm going to be flying. And while there are a number of sites out there dedicated to this topic, none have really … [Read more...] about Excellent Airline Meal Guide
