Hello Everyone. This post is not really going to be sharing much knowledge with you. Instead, I am going to ask for your knowledge. I have booked a series of flights that will have me in Buenos Aires for a large part of the US winter. Now, I thought I would ask for recommendations from readers to make sure I am doing things the right way. For those of you who have spent … [Read more...] about Recommendations for Buenos Aires and Argentina?
And Our Best Option Was… To Pay with Membership Rewards Points?
Warning. I started this blog post innocently enough, and then I got mad at Delta and started swearing. If you don't like the F-word, sit this one out please. Also, the cover photo is from Italy, and I loved it. Nothing to do with the post, just a beautiful sunset over autumn leaves in Italy. Because that is how I roll. … [Read more...] about And Our Best Option Was… To Pay with Membership Rewards Points?
Lava Fields in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park
At first I wasn't impressed with Hawai'i volcanoes national park. We paid an entry fee and drove to an active volcano viewing area. Because of safety concerns - you know, because of the active volcano and all - we could only get a certain distance away from the smoldering opening. So after 30 minutes in the park, this was the best photo I was able to take. Good, but afar. … [Read more...] about Lava Fields in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park
Where is Jeffsetter? A Brief Update
If there were an award for worst travel blogger, I probably wouldn't win. I'm not the worst, but I am not very consistent. Now if there were a contest for being the most inconsistent travel blogger... What were we talking about again? Sorry, but I got distracted. Literally. I was distracted for the past several months from this blog, and I may stay distracted for … [Read more...] about Where is Jeffsetter? A Brief Update
A Piedmontese Sunset (and Moonrise) in Treiso, Italy
I sure loved our time in Italy. My only complaint was the quality and consistency of the Internet. But that is pretty much my feedback from everywhere that is not 1 Gigabit Internet in San Francisco. Anyway, this view is from one of many great sunsets in Italy. About a 5 minute walk from our location in Treiso, a gem of a town with 360 views of beauty. … [Read more...] about A Piedmontese Sunset (and Moonrise) in Treiso, Italy
View from the 122nd Floor of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai
While I'm still not sure how I feel about Dubai, I did enjoy high tea at At.Mosphere restaurant in the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa. The views are pretty nice, but the haze around Dubai limited visibility. With the glare coming into the windows, photo options were limited. But I still liked how this photo of the Dubai Mall and fountain turned out. … [Read more...] about View from the 122nd Floor of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai
Aerial View of the Isle of Pines in New Caledonia
New Caledonia is already an "out of the way" destination, but adding Isle of Pines on top of it? You will need to add travel day on each side of your trip. Even then, a smooth journey isn't guaranteed. Our first flight was canceled (mid flight). We were denied the second flight. The third time was a charm, as we finally were able to set foot on the fabled pine … [Read more...] about Aerial View of the Isle of Pines in New Caledonia
Our First Look at Mount Aspiring, Wanaka New Zealand
For a week we walked into the town of Wanaka taking the same route. Left out of our flat, right down the road to the lake, right onto the path and within 20 minutes we would be in the city. … [Read more...] about Our First Look at Mount Aspiring, Wanaka New Zealand
The “Goonies Rock” in Cannon Beach, Oregon
It's funny how cognitive bias kicks in at all points of my life. My brother visited the "Goonies Rock" in Oregon over 10 years ago, but I never thought about it again. … [Read more...] about The “Goonies Rock” in Cannon Beach, Oregon
A Castle in the Rolling Hills of Barolo, Italy
Finally on solid ground in the United States, and figured I would do a brief post with a picture that just keeps on drawing my attention above all others. We were eating lunch on our way to the castle of Barolo, which conveniently houses the wine museum (where you learn about the history of wine). It takes about 2 years to get your final bill (and pay the bill) in Italy, so … [Read more...] about A Castle in the Rolling Hills of Barolo, Italy
