First 4K Video With my New Drone: DJI Phantom 3 Pro over Napa Wine Country
As my weekends in Northern California grow numbered and endless travel is imminent, I wanted to take my new drone for a spin and see what it is all about. If you're a long time reader, you'll know that I used to own the DJI Phantom 1 drone, and took it to South Africa with me in 2014. … [Read more...] about First 4K Video With my New Drone: DJI Phantom 3 Pro over Napa Wine Country

New Vines in Napa Valley Wine Country
My backlog of photos continues to grow, to the point where it is almost overwhelming to organize them. Case in point: I had to click around for 5 minutes to find this photo in my Lightroom library. I remembered that I took a bunch of photos in April during one of my visits to wine country (hard to keep count, I know). This photo was taken just before the full sunset (a photo … [Read more...] about New Vines in Napa Valley Wine Country
Golden Gate Bridge from Battery to Bluffs Trail
I am having a lot of fun reprocessing photos as I learn more post-production techniques. This photo was taken in January of 2015 during my photo hike from Lands End to Marshall's Beach in San Francisco. At the same time, sometimes I prefer the boldness and surreal images from Photomatix. It is more focused on the imagination rather than reality. That's the fun part about … [Read more...] about Golden Gate Bridge from Battery to Bluffs Trail
Lake Tahoe Sunset
Back to back sunsets on this blog! While sometimes I seek out sunsets for the colors in the sky, there's other times where I am simply finding time to operate the camera come sunset. That was the case for me in January, after getting in a full day of skiing at a nearby Lake Tahoe resort. Before turning back to San Francisco, I had to check out the lake. Luckily I had my … [Read more...] about Lake Tahoe Sunset
Sunsets and Swans in Munich, Germany
Here we are, back to back Munich pictures. I guess I couldn't resist showing this one, since the colors figuratively jumped out at me and said "pick me!" … [Read more...] about Sunsets and Swans in Munich, Germany
Stained Glass in Munich New Town Hall
During my March visit to Munich we went to the top of the Neues Rathaus (Munich New Town Hall) to take pictures of the surrounding area. Unfortunately one of the towers in Frauenkirche was under construction, so those photos won't really be inspiring. We took the long way down from the tower and ended up seeing some beautiful architecture and this stained glass depiction of … [Read more...] about Stained Glass in Munich New Town Hall
View from East Peak of Mount Tamalpais, Northern California
This weekend was the perfect Northern California weekend. It started with a short hike to the top of the east peak of Mount Tamalpais (the car does most of the work, with the hike only being about a mile roundtrip). Check out these great views! After that, we drove down the mountain to the coast, where we drove on the Pacific Coast highway up to the Tomales Bay Oyster … [Read more...] about View from East Peak of Mount Tamalpais, Northern California
