After our visit to Atrio Spa, we headed back up to our room. Being that we had a few hours till we needed to head to dinner, though, we decided to pay a brief visit to Beringer Vineyard.
Why did we choose to visit Beringer Vineyard of all the vineyards in Napa Valley? Because it’s location was super convenient for us, and because I like Beringer.
Location
Beringer Vineyard is in the St. Helena region of Napa Valley right next door to the Las Alcobas Napa Valley. In fact, during our stay at the Las Alcobas, the hotel was building a bridge over York Creek to Beringer Vineyard.
Estate
We didn’t book a tour or a tasting, so we spent much of our time walking around the estate. As you’d imagine, it’s a gorgeous estate dotted with historic buildings, gardens, fountains, and more.
We didn’t see any vineyards on the estate, though. I mean, there were a few vines here and there, but they were displays. Those displays showcase the different varieties of grapes the vineyard grows. Being late in the season, though, many of the grapes were already shriveling up.
Rhine House
The rest of the time we spent at Beringer Vineyard, we spent at the Rhine House. Here, you’ll find the Vineyard’s gift shop, filled with a variety of their wines and wine-related items.
There, we bought a couple of bottles of 2015 Beringer Winery Exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, as well as a bottle of 2014 Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley. Two were gifts, but we did try the Winery Exclusive, which was excellent. My favorite item from our visit to Beringer, though, was the Beringer Cabernet Truffle Bar. Too bad it’s exclusive to the winery and not available online because it was addicting!
A Brief Visit to Beringer Vineyard, Final Thoughts
Maybe our visit to Beringer isn’t what people typically do when visiting a vineyard. But, hey, as I said earlier, we went into the day without a plan aside from the spa time and our highly anticipated celebratory dinner. So, Beringer fit into our planned/unplanned day perfectly. And, again, it didn’t hurt that we like their wine to begin with ?.
