Back in March I visited London for the first time. While I enjoyed my stay, at the end of my post I lamented that the visit might have been more fun to have a travel companion or a local guide. Leading up to my visit I was so focused on creating and delivering a presentation that I didn't even think about what I would do when the presentation was complete. Mix in some jet … [Read more...] about Comprehensive Guide to Staying in London

Spice Markets in Istanbul, Turkey [Photo of the Week]
While spices are used every day in cooking throughout the world, in the US we usually associate spices with small jars at exorbitant prices. It's not until you visit a true spice market that you realize just how abundant and naturally beautiful spices can be. During my April 2013 trip to Istanbul, I made it a point to visit the famous spice markets to see what it was all … [Read more...] about Spice Markets in Istanbul, Turkey [Photo of the Week]
The Amazing Coastline in Monterey, California [Photo of the week]
In June of 2012, I got married in Sonoma County, California. It was a small destination wedding ceremony that involved immediately family and a few close friends having a great time in wine country. Since the wedding itself was a destination, we decided to delay our official honeymoon until later in the year. While still in California, our unofficial honeymoon involved driving … [Read more...] about The Amazing Coastline in Monterey, California [Photo of the week]
Tracking a Herd of Elephants – South Africa Safari Part 3
If you could make a hobby out of tracking Elephants, I think that it would replace travel hacking as my preferred way to spend my time outside of work. I would start an elephant tracking hacking blog and write tips about how to find elephants faster, share how to get free safaris and even join a network of fellow elephant bloggers. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening … [Read more...] about Tracking a Herd of Elephants – South Africa Safari Part 3
South Africa Safari Experience Part 2: How Often do Lions Mate?
After your first two safari drives, you start to get the hang of how things will unfold over the rest of the experience. Each drive will focus on tracking down animals that the passengers would like to see or those that have left a clear trail during their daily comings and goings. The morning drives will be far too early, and the evening drives will be a fun adventure before … [Read more...] about South Africa Safari Experience Part 2: How Often do Lions Mate?
My South Africa Safari Experience Part 1: Cheetah’s and Hippos

Read on to find out! … [Read more...] about My South Africa Safari Experience Part 1: Cheetah’s and Hippos
Black and White Overcast Sky in South Africa [Photo of the Week]

Attending the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks in Style
This past weekend I spent time with my parents, Mrs. Jeffsetter and some friends at the 140th Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY. This was my first time attending the derby, and it almost didn't happen because of my own negligence. But it did happen, and it was awesome. A little background on getting Kentucky Derby tickets I have always wanted to go to the Kentucky Derby, … [Read more...] about Attending the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks in Style
Sioux Falls, Seattle, Austin and Living Out of a Carry On
April has been one of those months where I have spent more nights in hotels than I have been home by about a 3 to 1 ratio. It started with the South Africa trip that I've been sharing updates on and then after a brief 4 days at home I'm now in the middle of a tour of several cities on the same multi-city ticket. … [Read more...] about Sioux Falls, Seattle, Austin and Living Out of a Carry On
Ascending Table Mountain, Seal Colonies and Penguins Around Cape Town
In addition to Robben island, there is a lot to see in the area surrounding Cape Town. Immediately after we got off the Robben Island ferry, we hopped in a taxi to take a ride to the Table mountain gondola. On our way I stopped at a camera shop to pick up two extra batteries for my DJI Phantom Quad Copter, which only took a few minutes to complete. Views from the top of Table … [Read more...] about Ascending Table Mountain, Seal Colonies and Penguins Around Cape Town
